The author of this adventure is Carlo Lorenzini was born in Florence in 1826 and is known by the pen name Carlo Collodi (name taken from the village of Collodi, where his mother was born). The Adventures of Pinocchio are first published chapter by chapter in a newspaper for children, to be combined into a single volume by the author himself.
Pinocchio Park in Collodi, opened in 1956, is a place for adults and children, but this is not a usual attractions park, as it was conceived as a collective creation of a well known group of artists.
The trail follows the literary narrative and contains: amazing mosaics, buildings and sculptures, all surrounded by green areas. The arrangement of the different stages is designed so that the adventures of Pinocchio appear unexpectedly and suddenly to the astonished eyes of the visitors.
The protagonists and story elements from the famous puppet await you: Pinocchio and the Blue Fairy, the Toyland, the village, the Policeman, Jiminy Cricket, the Cat and the Fox, and murderers, the little fairy and her home, the snail, the snake, the black rabbits with the coffin, the crab, the donkey, the goat, the great white shark and more.
The Park in Collodi is also a place of cultural events: art and graphics inspired by children’s literature and the tale of Pinocchio, workshops, puppet shows and storytellers will make your visit very pleasant.

You can arrive at Collodi by the A11 (Florence-Sea) by taking Lucca East towards Pescia – Collodi, exit Chiesina Uzzanese.
